Two categories of transaxle that must be known when buying a Transaxle

non-disconnected transaxle
When the wheel adopts non-independent suspension, non-disconnected transaxle should be selected. The non-disconnected transaxle is also called the integral transaxle. The half shaft sleeve and the final reducer housing are rigidly connected with the shaft housing to form an integral beam, so the half shafts on both sides and the driving wheels swing in relation to each other, and the elastic elements are connected with the drive wheels. The frame is connected. It consists of drive axle housing, final drive, differential and half shaft.
Disconnected transaxle
The independent suspension is used, that is, the final reducer housing is fixed on the frame, and the axle shafts and driving wheels on both sides can move relative to the car body in the transverse plane, which is called a disconnected transaxle.
In order to cooperate with the independent suspension, the final drive housing is fixed on the frame (or body), the transaxle shell is segmented and connected by hinges, or there are no other parts of the transaxle shell except the final drive shell. In order to meet the needs of independent up and down jumps of the drive wheels, the sections of the axle shaft between the differential and the wheels are connected by universal joints.
